Groundwater Quality 2007

The conference theme is Securing Groundwater Quality in Urban and Industrial Environments, and will focus on the need to sustain, repair and protect groundwater quality in urban and industrial settings. Groundwater is a key ‘unseen’ part of the water cycle – it is a vital resource and can also be a conduit for movement of contaminants through the environment. The conference will bring together researchers, industry, regulators, contractors, consultants, planners and water supply agencies to address the important issues related to groundwater quality in urban and industrial settings.

An Adpative Management Framework for Connected Groundwater-Surface Water Resources in Australia

This report describes a framework and toolkit designed to provide a consistent approach to conjunctive water management in Australia. The framework consists of six steps in an adaptive management cycle and provides information and resources to enable water managers and other stakeholders to take a more coordinated approach.

YieldProhphet

Yield Prophet® is a web enabled user interface to the cropping system simulator APSIM, a mathematical model of crop growth developed by the Agricultural Production Systems Research Unit (APSRU).It is  designed to provide grain growers with real-time information about the crop during growth. To assist in management decisions, growers enter inputs at any time during the season to generate reports of projected yield outcomes showing the impact of crop type and variety, sowing time, nitrogen fertiliser and irrigation.
