National Science Week
In its 11th year, National Science Week is an annual nationwide celebration of Australian achievements and capabilities in science. It aims to increase community awareness and understanding of the role of science, engineering, technology and innovation in maintaining and improving our society, economy and the environment.
CRCA 08: Cooperative Research, The Engine of Innovation
Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) bring research and industry together in creative and cost-effective collaborations to address specific national research priorities and to develop new products and opportunities of immense value. The CRC Programme is an Australian Government funded initiative.
One of the important challenges in maximising the impact of S&T is understanding and managing the complex processes that underpin world-class S&T research and innovation. The 2008 Annual Conference of the Cooperative Research Centres Association (CRCA) is an opportunity for Australian and S&T innovators to gain valuable insights from leading bureaucrats, academics and entrepreneurs about their experiences, their successes and their failures in this arena.
The CRC Association extends an open invitation for interested parties to join representatives from 57 CRCs throughout Australia at this conference to critically evaluate how successful scientific research and development innovation can happen through cooperative research, both in Australia and abroad.
The Annual Conference of the CRC Association brings together all CRCs from across Australia to discuss the latest approaches and achievements in world-class collaborative science and education.
Simulation and Modelling of Urban and Regional Sustainability, Transitions and Applications in Policy, Planning and Management (
The workshop aims to achieve an understanding of existing regional and urban models and their analysis techniques in order to identify pathways towards sustainable regional and urban policy development, planning and management. The initial keynote address will be given by Mr Alan Stokes, Executive Director, National Sea Change Taskforce.
5th SETAC World Congress
The 5th SETAC World Congress will be held in Sydney. The Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) is an international society of some 5000 members in 78 countries, organised via geographic units in North America, Europe, Asia/Pacific and Latin America. The Society is a nonprofit, worldwide professional society comprised of individuals and institutions engaged in: * the study, analysis, and solution of environmental problems * the management and regulation of natural resources * environmental education * research and development
| NRM Discussion Forum - Online discussion forum | Individuals and key interest groups involved in NRM across Australia can use the forum to exchange information and views on common issues. Issues covered include land management, water management, vegetation, biodiversity conservation, salinity and water quality. |

NSW State Landcare Forum
The 2007 Namoi Landscape Management and NSW Landcare Forum is all about confronting our future. A number of highly acclaimed speakers will take delegates through the many challenges facing regional Australia regarding land, water and biodiversity issues. The Forum also incorporates the NSW Landcare Awards and will be attended by over 400 delegates from across NSW and around Australia.
2007 National Ecotourism Conference: Leading Global Challenges
This year’s Conference program will showcase Victoria’s unique regions and cultural assets and delegates will have the choice of attending a themed stream at the Grampians, the Goldfields or Mt Buller. International and national keynote speakers, informative and educating workshops, concurrent sessions and discussion panels will ensure that delegates have access to the latest information on climate change and other global issues currently facing the industry.
